Dior’s Five-Story Boutique Opens in Ginza | DA MAN Magazine – DA MAN Magazine (blog)

FROM TOKYO WITH LOVE. Dior opened one of its largest boutiques at Ginza Six in Tokyo, Japan, and unveiled its pre-fall 2017 collection during the opening

April 19 was the grand opening of Dior’s largest store in Japan. The five-story boutique was immediately used to showcasing the French luxury brand’s latest collections. For the first time ever, Dior held a presentation especially for its Dior Homme collection, exemplifying artistic director Kris Van Assche’s designs that merge Dior’s classic clean-cut tailored lines with versatile sportswear touches, plus new graphic elements. The manner in which the collection was presented was also not your typical presentation.

The Dior Homme presentation came after Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Haute Couture show, and the crowd was ushered into a new venue where Kris Van Assche’s latest creations would greet the visitors in a much more alluring manner. Instead of your typical runway show that shows a fashion collection in movement, the models held static poses in romantically lit rooms in different areas of the venue. The display had a feel of an art gallery. Due to the lack of movement from the models, the intricate details of the collection were easier to capture compared to if the models were walking on the runway.

The complete collection was immediately available for purchase the following day at the Dior Ginza Six store.
